I have many years of experience in government, not for profit and corporation, in which I have been lucky enough to have great partners in dealing with Language issues in the workplace, as well as providing services and products that are culturally relevant to the markets that we served.  As we are aware of, our country is becoming more and more diversified and the need for organizations to understand the dynamics of language is becoming more relevant.
Luckily there is help out there for those who need it. There are companies that can help you navigate and ease your journey by working with you on the issues that are important to you and your organization.  We will identify resources that you will be able to use, so that at the end you are able to accomplish your goals!
This blog is a place to explore issues related to language and translation, as well as cultural sensitivity in America’s business world.  It is about language in business and business in language.  During the upcoming months we will be able to explore topics such as ‘translation vs. trans-creation’  the importance of speaking the ‘market’s language’ ; Cultural and Linguistic Access Standards and regulations, language semantics among different populations speaking the same language… and many more topics.
We will welcome comments, ideas, suggestions and any insight that participants may have on these topics.  It is our objective to make this blog an interactive forum for everyone… from students, to corporate executives, from managers to computer geeks… from English learners to monolingual or bilingual people.  All are welcome to participate.
The blog will be a forum for those who are “lost in translation” and those that are not so lost, we will guide each other through all the language issues that we can encounter in government, non-profit and corporate America.  Sometimes we will ask questions from you… we will encourage healthy discussions in many topics, which in turn will enlighten us all!
